There are people who hate Birmingham no matter what My only intent is to create a conversation about how we might have a more prosperous metro Birmingham.
I don’t expect everyone to agree with me-in fact, I don’t necessarily agree with everything I write. Some people feel since I don’t actually live in the city limits of Birmingham that I have no right to have an opinion. I live in Vestavia Hills and previously lived in Mountain Brook, but have always considered myself a Birminghamian. I also take a lot of ‘heat’ for not living in the City of Birmingham. I was prepared to defend my ideas-but have had to get use to folks questioning my character. I’ve long since gotten over it, but at the beginning, I was hurt that people attacked me rather than my opinions. When people don’t like what you say-some attack you personally
I’ve learned so much about human nature, Birmingham, and our suburban neighbors. I never dreamed publishing a weekly blog about how to create a more prosperous Birmingham could be so challenging-but so DARN interesting! It’s been a wild ride publishing ComebackTown.
